EVENT INFO:
This group will meet weekly at this time and is open to ALL new and expecting birthing people —regardless of their background, experience, or choices—to come together and share thoughts, feelings, and insight about childbirth.

Facilitated by Doula Joyce. Joyce started her journey as a Doula when she left her daytime job working for diplomats, but her passion for pregnancy and birth started when she was a little girl growing up in Africa. Want to know: What a Doula (doo-lah) is and what can she do for you? The difference between a midwife and an OB/GYN? What choices you can make to ensure the best birth? After all, giving birth to your baby is even more important than planning your wedding! Joyce will be able to answer your questions and/or give you referrals.

Positive Birth Group aims to be a helpful part of your pregnancy; a warm and welcoming place to hear stories and ideas, to consider what you really want from your childbirth experience, and to challenge any fears or negative expectations you might have.


FACILITATOR BIO:

Joyce is a Certified Holistic Doula, certified birth doula (DONA) and home birth assistant. She’s also a CPR instructor and a Spinning Babies® Provisional Parent Educator. She speaks English, Dutch, French and German and facilitates a Positive Birth Movement meet up in her home in Larchmont, Westchester NY.

Her passion for pregnancy, labor and birth began as a young girl growing up in Africa. Thanks to her exposure to many different cultures, she’s able to pick up on your personal culture and beliefs easily.

Apart from being certified and trained, Joyce is also your advocate and ambassador, your official representative, to join you on your journey in the land of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She will support you during and beyond this life changing event.
